UPCOMING SHELTER EVENTS

 Stay tuned!

 SHELTER SERVICES

  1. The shelter is open to visitors between the hours of 11:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Sunday, 7 days a week.  On Wednesdays, we extend our hours and are open from 11:00am to 6:00pm. The shelter will accommodate visitors for adoptions, redemptions, and licensing on a first come, first served basis.

  2. We provide $25 microchipping services for our residents during business hours.

  3. We are not accepting healthy stray cats at this time, but we will continue to accept sick or injured stray cats, along with abandoned underage kittens. If you need assistance with cats in your neighborhood, please contact the rescue groups listed on the graphic below.

  4. Due to an increase in the number of dogs at our shelter, we are currently not accepting owner-surrendered dogs. However, we prioritize accepting animals with a documented history of aggression to ensure public safety, and we will accept adoption returns within 45 days post-adoption from City Residents and any of our Contracting Cities. For other situations, including adoption returns after 45 days, acceptance is at the discretion of our staff based on the reason for surrender and shelter capacity.

We encourage pet owners to explore other options before considering surrender. The Lange Foundation at (909) 600-0738 or [email protected] may be able to assist with rehoming, vet care, or behavior issues.

  5. We will accept all stray dogs from the City of San Bernardino, Colton, Grand Terrace, Fontana, Loma Linda, or Rialto but ask that residents check with their neighbors to see if they've lost their pet prior to contacting us or bringing the pet to the shelter. Most lost pets are only about a mile away from their home. Studies show that pets are more likely to be reunited with their owners when they stay in the communities where they were found.  Social media tools like Facebook, NextDoor and applications like Finding Rover are free to use and can help you get the dog home quickly without a trip to the shelter.

  6.  If you are able to, please pay your pet's license by mail, phone or pay your pet's license online on Docupet.

  7. If you would like to pay for your fine or citation, please attempt to pay via mail or phone. If you need to pay your fine in-person, please contact us at (909)-384-1304.
